E-Commerce Business Development, Search Engine Optimization, and Social Media Strategy Workshop

Search Profile Index will have its 5th workshop at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business on January 30, 31, and February 1, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Search Profile Index was created to help companies assess their current or planned website versus their competition including online marketing and sales strategies. In addition, we listen and monitor online conversations. Reports are produced on a monthly basis, giving insights and suggestions to subscribers.

This workshop is FREE to annual subscribers of Search Profile Index. Participants will be introduced to the tools used by Search Profile Index that subscribers can access to support and monitor search engine and social media activities.

This workshop will discuss tips and techniques to get your site to the top of search engine rankings (e.g. Google, Yahoo and Bing) and stay there.

Participants are requested to bring their own laptop. The venue has wi-fi Internet access. However, bringing of back-up Internet access gadget is encouraged.

This workshop will:
  1. Build an e-commerce business model tacking all necessary areas to sustain it.
  2. Discuss tips and techniques to get your site to the top of search engine rankings (e.g. Google, Yahoo and Bing) and stay there. 
  3. Help you create a social media strategy and work plan.
  4. Use tools (e.g. Search Profile Index) to monitor your website, search engine, and social media campaign performance.
Participants are requested to bring their own laptop. The venue has wi-fi Internet access. However, bringing of back-up Internet access gadget is encouraged.

Day 1: E-Commerce Business Development

This will help the participant plan and put up an E-Commerce Site where products and services can be promoted.
  • Value proposition
  • Revenue streams
  • Customer segment and relationship.
  • Channels for promotion, sales, delivery, and support.
  • Business activities, partners, and resources.
  • Cost structure.
  • eStore creation using popular sites and blogs. (Cashsense, Multiply, Heartland Malls, Shopinas)
Accepting Online Payments Through Credit Card, Mobile, Paypal, among others
  • Introduction to Online Payments
  • Evaluating online and mobile payment providers.
  • Setting up online payment for your site using local payment gateway providers (YesPayments, Kaban, Cashsense, Paynamics), Paypal, and mobile phone.
  • Fraud detection
    Day 2: Creation of a Search Engine Marketing Plan

    Discussion and Demonstration
    Introduction of search engine marketing and optimization. Topics include:
    • Identify niche positioning for products and services that you will sell, target customers, buying frequency and motivation
    • Keywords discovery, attractiveness analysis and navigation
    • Competition analysis
    • Improving your website page titles, description, menus, body text, other assets and good content (on-page optimization)
    Day 3: Creation of a Social Media Plan and Presence Online

    Discussion and Demonstration
    Techniques to improve ranking on search engine results and engage your readers. Topics include:
    • Web copywriting
      • Developing content designed for the buying cycle.
    • Creating your social media presence online
      • Social media plan development
    • Building an online footprint
      • Social bookmarking and tagging
      • Directory submission
      • Links through blog posts
      • Microblogging
      • Social Networks
    To earn a certificate of attendance, participants should: 
    • complete the 3-days session (certificate of attendance)
    • submit and present completed assignment work and any revision asked for through webinar on February 8, 2012. (certificate of completion)

    Fees:

    • Annual subscribers of Search Profile Index can send one participant to attend this workshop for free.
    • Monthly subscribers of Search Profile Index can attend this workshop for only five thousand pesos (P5,000).
    • Non-members can attend this workshop for only ten thousand pesos (P10,000).

    About the trainer:

    Janette Toral is the lead analyst for Search Profile Index and has experience developing retail websites, blogs, membership sites, community management, and various forms of Internet marketing. She is also a Co-Program Director of the Ateneo-DigitalFilipino.com Digital Entrepreneurship Program.
